Finding New Meaning

Well it's officially a new year which is so crazy to me. I feel like the older I get, the quicker the years go by. I've seen so many posts and memes about what a rough year 2016 was for our world. For me personally, it might have been one of my favorites because Collin and I tied the knot and celebrated with all our friends and family. And this year, brings new adventures and challenges, but I will share those in a later post.

At the beginning of every year, I like to do some self reflection. Just look back on all that was accomplished over the last year and all of the opportunities I had. I also spend time thinking about the areas of my life where I want to improve. This year, I really want to work on finding new meaning in several areas of my life.

Sometimes, I think people struggle with finding meaning in what they are doing. We get so caught up in our daily routines and just getting to the next thing, we sometimes forget why we do what we do or we allow a certain factor to dominate our lives. For example, maybe you hate your job but you stick with it because it pays the bills or allows you to live a certain lifestyle. But is it really worth it if you're miserable and probably making the people around you miserable also?

Why do you do what you do? What are you passionate about? What gets you out of bed in the morning? If you ask yourself these questions and find yourself saying "I don't know" or "I do it because I have to" do something to change that routine. Do something that challenges you, gets you out of your comfort zone, disrupts your average life.

My challenge to you for 2017 is to find new meaning in whatever it is your doing. Change your perspective in some aspect of your life. Find new happiness and contentment where you deem necessary.

I wish you the best for 2017.

PS- This oversized sweater is basically my new go to and I am obsessed. I found it at this perfect little local boutique called Suite Little Muse which is also a salon. How perfect is that? Make sure to check them out in Fishers, IN.
